Pastor Scott was so impressed by the Simpson’s latest post, he wanted to share it on the church’s blog as well!

Today at church, Pastor Scott interviewed Christian and Faith about the trip. After service a woman came up to me and gave me $20. She said she wanted to give more, but her husband has been out of work due to breathing problems for 2 years now. Please pray for him, his name is John. It reminded me of the scripture where Jesus shared about the widow who gave all that she had to the temple. Because she had so little, what she gave was so much. She had given so generously, just like the woman today. I feel blessed!

(NET) Luke 21:2-4 He also saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. He said,“I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. For they all offered their gifts out of their wealth. But she, out of her poverty, put in everything she had to live on.”

Over the last 2 months, the generosity of friends and famiily has blessed us so much. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and donations. God has provided for us yet again.

This was just posted on the Simpson’s website, http://geoffreyscottsimpson.com/wordpress/?p=111

Let it Rain – Michael W. Smith

Let it rain, let it rain.
Open the floodgates of Heaven
Repeat
The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad
Let the distance shores rejoice
Clouds and thick darkness surround him
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne
A fire goes before him and consumes his foes on every side
His lightning lights up the world
The earth sees and trembles
The mountains melt like wax before the Lord
Before the Lord of all the earth
The Heavens proclaim His righteousness
And all peoples will see His Glory

We want to see Your Glory, God!
Do you want to see His Glory?
Lift your voices, lift your hands!

Let it rain, let it rain.
Open the floodgates of Heaven
Repeat

Merry Christmas!
1) Silent Night

Lyrics

silent night, holy night
all is calm, all is bright
’round yon virgin Mother and Child
holy infant so tender and mild
sleep in heavenly peace
sleep in heavenly peace

silent night, holy night
shepherds quake at the sight
glories stream from heaven afar
heav’nly hosts sing Hallelujah (Hallelujah)
Christ the Savior is born
Christ the Savior is born

silent night, holy night
Son of God, love’s pure light
radiant beams from Thy holy face
with the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth

Christ the Savior is born
Christ the Savior is born
Chris is born
Hallelujah

2) God With Us

Lyrics Mercy Me

Who are we
That You would be mindful of us
What do You see
That’s worth looking our way

We are free
In ways that we never should be
Sweet release
From the grip of these chains

Like hinges straining from the weight
My heart no longer can keep from singing

Chorus
All that is within me cries
For You alone be glorified
Emmanuel
God with us

My heart sings a brand new song
The debt is paid these chains are gone
Emmanuel
God with us

Lord You know
Our hearts don’t deserve Your glory
Still You show
A love we cannot afford

Like hinges straining from the weight
My heart no longer can keep from singing

Chorus

Bridge
Such a tiny offering compared to Calvary
Nevertheless we lay it at Your feet

Chorus

3) O Praise Him

Lyrics David Crowder Band

Turn your ear
To Heaven and hear
The noise inside
The sound of angels
The sound of angels songs
And all this for a King
We could join and sing
“All to Christ the King!”

How constant
How divine
This song of ours will rise
Oh, how constant
How divine
This love of ours will rise
Will rise…

CHORUS:
O praise Him!
O praise Him!
He is Holy!
He is Holy, yeah!

Turn your gaze
To Heaven and raise
A joyous noise
Oh, the sound of salvation come
The sound of rescued ones
And all this for a king
Angles join to sing
“All for Christ the King!”

CHORUS [2x]

Oh la la la la la…

O pra-ise Him!
O pra-ise Him!
He is Ho-ly!
He is Ho-ly!

How infininte and sweet
This love so rescuing
Oh how infinitely sweet
This great love that has redeemed
As one, we sing…

“Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
He is Ho-ly!
He is Ho-ly!” [2x]

O pra-ise Him!
O pra-ise Him!
He is Ho-ly!
He is Ho-ly!

Oh, La la la la la la…

“Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
He is Ho-ly!
He is Ho-ly!”

O pra-ise Him!
O pra-ise Him!
He is Ho-ly!
He is Ho-ly!

Oh la la la la la la…

4) How Many Kings

Lyrics to How Many Kings – Downhere

Follow the star to a place unexpected
Would you believe, after all we’ve projected,
A child in a manger?
Lowly and small, the weakest of all
Unlikeliest hero, wrapped in his mother’s shawl -
Just a child -
Is this who we’ve waited for? ’cause…How many kings step down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?
And how many gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that is torn all apart
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?Bringing our gifts for the newborn Savior
All that we have, whether costly or meek
Because we believe.
Gold for his honor, and frankincense for his pleasure
And myrrh for the cross he will suffer
Do you believe?
Is this who we’ve waited for?All for me…
All for you…

5) You Reign

Lyrics “You Reign” Mercy Me

Even before there was a drop in the ocean even before there was a star in the sky even before
the world was put in motion You were on Your throne You were on Your throne.[chorus]
You reign glory in the highest You reign let creation testify by Your name every knee will bow
and every tongue proclaim that Jesus reigns.

Even before Your hand made the heavens even before the breath of all mankind even before we
had to be forgiven You were on Your throne You were on Your throne. [back to chorus]

Yesterday, today and forever Your are God who was, and is and is to come. [back to chorus]

6) Here with Us

Lyrics Here with Us – Joy Williams

It’s still a mystery to me
That the hands of God could be so small,
How tiny fingers reaching in the night
Were the very hands that measured the sky

Chorus
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Heaven’s love reaching down to save the world
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Son of God, Servant King,
You’re here with us
You’re here with us

Verse 2
It’s still a mystery to me, oh,
How His infant eyes have seen the dawn of time
How His ears have heard an angel’s symphony,
But still Mary had to rock her Savior to sleep

Chorus
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Heaven’s love reaching down to save the world
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Son of God, Servant King
Here with us
You’re here with us
(Ohh, mmm, here with us)

Bridge
Jesus the Christ, born in Bethlehem
A baby born to save, to save the souls of man

Chorus (2x)
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Heaven’s love reaching down to save the world
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Son of God, Servant King
You’re here with us
You’re here with us

7) O Holy Night

Lyrics O Holy Night

O holy night, the stars are brightly shining;
It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope, the weary soul rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.

Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born!
O night, O holy night, O night divine!

Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,
Here came the wise men from Orient land.
The King of kings lay thus in lowly manger,
In all our trials born to be our friend!

Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born!
O night, O holy night, O night divine!

Truly He taught us to love one another;
His law is love and His Gospel is peace.
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother
And in His Name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy Name!

Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born!
O night, O holy night, O night divine!

Getting ready for Christmas with blessed music!

The favourite O Come, O Come Emmanuel carol was originally written in Latin text in the 12th Century. The author of the words and composer to the music of O Come, O Come Emmanuel is unknown. It is, however believed that the melody was of French origin and added to the text a hundred years later. The Latin was translated into English by John Mason Neale in 1851.

from the website http://www.carols.org.uk/o_come_come_emmanuel.htm

The song is sung by Selah

This is a video of American Sign Language for the song

Lyrics from O Come, O Come Emmanuel
O come, O come, Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free
Thine own from Satan’s tyranny
From depths of Hell Thy people save
And give them victory o’er the grave
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Day-Spring, come and cheer
Our spirits by Thine advent here
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And death’s dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Key of David, come,
And open wide our heavenly home;
Make safe the way that leads on high,
And close the path to misery.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, O come, Thou Lord of might,
Who to Thy tribes, on Sinai’s height,
In ancient times did’st give the Law,
In cloud, and majesty and awe.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

Report from Dad, Andy Lydick-

We went to the hospital on Monday night. Abigail was having contractions about 5 minutes apart and was in pain. She was experiencing “bladder spasms” from a bladder infection she had. We woke up around 12 PM the next day, and she was in immediate pain. The pain she was experiencing slowly increased throughout the day and got significantly more severe about 6 PM. We called the doctor for some stronger meds for her infection. By the time I got her the meds she was sick from the pain. We called the doctor and decided to go to the hospital. The doctor checked her around 2 AM and found that she was 2cm dilated. She was in pain all night. She got some pain relief around 4 AM and at 4:45 AM but had little effect. She got her epidural around 9 AM. Abigail was able to sleep from 9:30 to about 11 AM. The doctor checked her at 11:10 and found that she was 4 to 5 cm. Her water broke around 11:20, and was at 9 cm at 11:25. She started pushing and Lucienne Noelle Lydick came into the world at 11:41 am, at 5 lbs 4 oz and 19 inches long.

Praise God!

Congratulations Abigail and Andy, Grandpa Jeff and Grandma Kelly, and Grandpa Erik and all the rest of the family!
