Tom Schuck.... 

You’ll most often hear Tom’s name combined with “and Margy.” That’s because Tom’s (and his wife, Margy’s) passion is toward marriages. Married for over 25 years and ministering together with marriage counseling, events and studies focused on building marriages in the Church and community, Tom and Margy want to do all they can to build your marriage too!

Tom and Margy are both native Southern Californians. In the early 70's Tom attended Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa while they were still meeting in a tent. After accepting the Lord as his personal Lord and Savior Tom found his first ministry with the elderly in convalescent homes.

Tom and Margy were married in 1981 and soon joined Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, CA (Pastor Gregg Laurie), where they started up and coordinated Harvest’s “James 1:27” Convalescent ministry that conducted worship and teaching services at many retirement and convalescent homes in the area. Tom and Margy also joined the “Prayer and Share” counseling team of Harvest and worked primarily in marriage counseling. In 1996, Tom and Margy felt a clear leading from the Lord to leave Southern California, and with the Lord providing a job opportunity as the vehicle, to relocate.

In 2002, Pastor Scott asked Tom to come on staff at Calvary Chapel Mercer County as an assistant Pastor.

Tom and Margy lead the marriage enrichment ministry, which over the years has hosted home marriage fellowships, biblical studies, home video studies and events to provide an enriching and enjoyable time for couples. Click here to learn more about the marriage enrichment home fellowship.

If you need information about the church, or the history of CCMC, Tom oversees the Information Table ministry and you’ll usually find him in the foyer greeting people.  Tom also directs the facilities ministries, working with volunteers who keep our building clean and in working order.

Tom and Margy enjoy ballroom dance.  They discovered how they can use ballroom dance to teach practical lessons of marriage relationships. Together they offer a free weekly ballroom dance class, sharing their knowledge of the steps, along with the biblical applications toward relationship. They have two sons, Daniel (20), who is currently living in Seattle, working for his uncle in the landscaping industry, and Christopher (19) who works for Scott Turansky at the National Center for Biblical Parenting.  Both boys were home-schooled through high-school.

Besides dancing, Tom enjoys kayaking and rock climbing, Margy enjoys snowboarding and has been a leader in the Homeschoolers Support Network’s annual ski and snowboard club at Shawnee Mountain, PA. Tom works full time as a Senior Applications Developer in the health-care industry.
