Calvary Chapel Mercer County has partnered with CC New Orleans and CC St. Bernard to help in the rebuilding process caused by the August 2005 Hurricane Katrina. Since November 2005, CCMC has sent work teams to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of the community. A return trip is now being planned for November 2008. New Hope Ministries is committed to taking the Gospel to the unreached, making new disciples, and caring for the poor and oppressed people in India. The ministry supports native missionaries who are spreading the Gospel in unreached villages, has a home for orphans, gives skills training to widows to help them support their families, and cares for impoverished children by linking sponsors with children. ChoiceOne is a peer counseling center for women and men facing unplanned pregnancies with the primary goal of introducing its clients to Jesus Christ. They offer the following free services: Pregnancy Testing, Options Counseling, Medical and Social Service Referrals, Adoption Referrals, Parenting Courses, Post-Abortion Counseling, Maternity Clothing, and Baby Equipment. Volunteers from the centers are available, free of charge, for group presentations on teen sexuality and abstinence.
